A firearm barrel for a lever action firearm, the firearm barrel comprising: an inner barrel; an outer sleeve situated over the inner barrel, said outer sleeve comprising an outer sleeve outer diameter; and a muzzle keeper coupled to the inner barrel, said muzzle keeper comprising a first end portion and a second end portion; said first end portion of said muzzle keeper comprising a first muzzle keeper outer diameter and a second muzzle keeper outer diameter, said first muzzle keeper outer diameter less than said second muzzle keeper outer diameter; said muzzle keeper further comprising an abutment wall about said muzzle keeper, said abutment wall having a height comprising a difference between said first muzzle keeper outer diameter less than said second muzzle keeper outer diameter; said second muzzle keeper outer diameter equal to said outer sleeve outer diameter. an inner barrel; an outer sleeve situated over the inner barrel, said outer sleeve comprising an outer sleeve outer diameter; and a muzzle keeper coupled to the inner barrel, said muzzle keeper comprising a first end portion and a second end portion; said first end portion of said muzzle keeper comprising a first muzzle keeper outer diameter and a second muzzle keeper outer diameter, said first muzzle keeper outer diameter less than said second muzzle keeper outer diameter; said muzzle keeper further comprising an abutment wall about said muzzle keeper, said abutment wall having a height comprising a difference between said first muzzle keeper outer diameter less than said second muzzle keeper outer diameter; said second muzzle keeper outer diameter equal to said outer sleeve outer diameter.
