Claim 1

A silencer for mounting on a handgun having a barrel with a barrel extension and a frame with a mounting rail and a trigger guard, the silencer comprising: a receiving portion configured and adapted to receive at least a part of the barrel of the handgun in a fixing manner; and an attaching rail configured and adapted to support the silencer on the trigger guard of the handgun; wherein the attaching rail is displaceable relative to the receiving portion along a longitudinal direction of the silencer in order to adjust the silencer to a varying distance between the barrel extension and the trigger guard. a receiving portion configured and adapted to receive at least a part of the barrel of the handgun in a fixing manner; and an attaching rail configured and adapted to support the silencer on the trigger guard of the handgun; wherein the attaching rail is displaceable relative to the receiving portion along a longitudinal direction of the silencer in order to adjust the silencer to a varying distance between the barrel extension and the trigger guard.
