A system for providing discharge monitoring of a firearm includes an event detection module, an event detection module housing, and a signal processing module. The event detection module has a sensor that senses an acceleration and generates an acceleration signal. The event detection module housing houses the event detection module. The signal processing module receives the acceleration signal and determines whether the acceleration signal is a discharge event and generates an event detection signal based on the determination, the signal processing module is further configured to maintain a shot count of the firearm based on the determination that the event detection signal is a discharge event. The event detection module is coupled to a quick change barrel of the firearm. The event detection module generates the event detection signal specific to the quick change barrel of the firearm; and determines a shot count of the quick change barrel.

A suppressor assembly for a firearm includes a rear mount, a rear cap, at least one baffle on a forward side of the rear cap, and a front cap on a forward side of the at least one baffle. The rear mount includes an inner bore, a rear attachment interface, and a forward attachment interface. The rear cap is attached to the rear mount through the forward attachment interface. The rear attachment interface connects the suppressor assembly to the firearm. The front cap includes a plurality of exit holes that allow propellant gases to exit the suppressor assembly through the front cap.

A method for aiming an archery bow includes the steps of 1) providing an archery bow having a bow string, 2) providing an aiming apparatus in which the aiming apparatus may include a beam having a longitudinal slit configured to engage the bow string along a longitudinal axis of the beam, and a portion of the beam may further include a projection having a curved surface. The projection may also include a frustum. The steps may further include 3) inserting the bow string into the longitudinal slit and positioning the aiming apparatus to a first point on the bow string so that when drawn the aiming apparatus contacts a point on an archer's nose, 4) drawing the bow string to a firing position, and 5) positioning the bow string so that the aiming apparatus contacts the archer's nose.

A fall away arrow rest system for use with an archery bow. The arrow rest system includes a launcher that is adapted to support a shaft of an arrow prior to firing the arrow. Upon firing the arrow, the launcher rotates from an upright position to a lowered position to move out of the way by the time the tail region of the arrow passes by the launcher. The arrow rest system includes a rest cord coupled to the arrow rest, the effective length and tension of which determines the timing of the launcher rotating out of the way. The arrow rest system includes a system for adjusting the effective length of and tension in the rest cord to adjust the timing as desired.

A cover for soft armor has a mantle extending from front waist to rear waist, with a head/neck opening and formed of an outer fabric layer and an inner liner secured to the outer fabric layer at particular locations. An additional liner is positioned between the outer fabric layer and the inner liner and secured to the inner liner to produce a sling along with the inner liner, positioned to receive and support portions of the soft armor at front and back of the mantle. The sling is openable and closable at a bottom of the sling for insertion of soft armor portions. At front and back the inner liner is split along a vertical center line providing for opening left and right portions upwardly and outwardly, for convenient loading of the armor.

The present invention provides a panel comprising a protective plate which is adapted to be fitted to a vehicle body panel to cover the vehicle body panel. The protective plate includes a plurality of fasteners to releasably secure the protective plate to the vehicle body panel. Each fastener comprises a first fastening portion which is secured to the protective plate, and a second fastening portion which is secured to the surface of the vehicle's body panel. Upon securing the protective plate in place, the first fastening portion is biased away from the second fastening portion to retain the fastener in a locked position. The protective plate is adapted to remain fixed to the vehicle body panel when the vehicle is driven in either an on-road or off-road environment.

Described herein is a new design for a combat vehicle, such as a battle tank, that includes enhanced armor plating overhead of the passengers inside the vehicle. The enhanced armor may include thicker plating within a turret that is arranged over where one or more passengers are seated within a turret basket. In some respects, the plated region of the turret may also protect rear features such as an autoloader from frontal attacks. The armored turret region may have a thickness of at least 500 mm or may have a thickness that extends an entire height of the turret. One or more occupants of the combat vehicle may be seated within a turret basket beneath the turret, such that they are arranged beneath the armored turret region when seated and better protected from overhead attacks.

A programmable non-explosive initiator may include a capsule, a filament, a shrink sleeve, a capacitor, and a printed circuit board (PCB). The capsule includes a container tube or sleeve containing a first rapidly expanding metallic mixture. The filament is coated by a second rapidly expanding metallic mixture and is contained by the shrink sleeve. The filament is caused to glow by a controlled discharge of the capacitor. The controlled discharge of the capacitor is controlled by the PCB. In some examples, the programmable non-explosive initiator may include electronic initiator units connected in parallel.

A training round for performing indirect fire mission, including a top end oriented towards a direction of projectile motion of the training round. A bottom end is situated opposite to the top end. The top end and the bottom end are separated by a first distance. An adjuster is arranged between the top end and the bottom end to adjust a length of the training round. The adjuster compresses such that the top end and the bottom end are separated by a second distance. The second distance is less than the first distance. A round sensor attached to the training round and communicatively couples to a simulation computer while performing the indirect fire training mission.

Disclosed is a tunable microwave-initiated antenna igniter. The device includes a pair of tunable microstrip antennas on a substrate configured to receive an electromagnetic radiation frequency that provides ignition energy; and a conductive material spanning a dielectric gap between the pair of tunable microstrip antennas. The conductive material spanning the dielectric gap can include a dielectric epoxy or a bridgewire. The microstrip antennas are tunable for frequency and bandwidth by varying dipole length and/or width. Tuning causes the microstrip antennas to reject accidental ignition from an off frequency high power microwave field. The tunability, bandwidth selectivity, and low energy requirements allow for use of the tunable microwave-initiated antenna igniters in a number of new and challenging ignition applications.
