The lands and grooves may extend from the chamber to the muzzle end. The bore may have a constant cross-sectional profile along its length.

A ballistic projectile recovery system includes a forward opening in an ogive of the projectile, selectively opened to deploy a portion of the recovery system. A parachute is deployable through the opening, connected to the projectile by riser line(s). A rotational bearing assembly makes the riser line(s) rotationally decoupled from the projectile. A bidirectional drag inducing element extends externally of an ogive of the projectile. A spacer, between a setback plate and the rotational bearing assembly, is deformable in at least the longitudinal direction of the projectile. The setback plate is movable between a first position to a second position made available by the compression of the spacer. In the second position, the setback plate is in contact with the projectile, providing a load path that avoids the rotational bearing assembly to take up strain applied to the projectile in at least the longitudinal direction.

A method for visualising impacts of laser pulses emitted by a laser designator, according to a predetermined repetition interval (PRI), onto a target present in a scene, by means of a device including: an optronic sensor of the silicone-based CMOS type having a predetermined number of rows associated with a rolling shutter-type readout circuit. Each row of the sensor is exposed for an exposure time and read during a reading time so that the exposure time is no less than the reading time but no more than the product of the reading time and the number of rows. A transition between the rows exposed to a signal and the rows not exposed to said signal is detected in at least two images in order to infer the PRI.

Methods of creating geometry for a fragmentation device are presented. The geometry may be generated using computer-aided design tools. An inner body with a curved surface may be generated. An intersection line may be generated on the curved surface by tracing a helical path. A fragment comprising a fragment surface tangent to the curved surface may be generated and aligned with the intersection line. A pattern of fragments may then be generated based on the fragment, the intersection line, and the curved surface. The geometry of the fragmentation device may be stored for manufacture of the fragmentation device by additive manufacturing.

A system for supplying power to a portable battery pack including a battery enclosed by a wearable and replaceable pouch or skin using at least one solar panel is disclosed, wherein the pouch or skin can be provided in different colors and/or patterns. Further, the pouch or skin can be MOLLE-compatible. The battery comprises a battery element housed between a battery cover and a back plate, wherein the battery element, battery cover, and back plate have a slight curvature or contour. Further, the battery comprises flexible leads.
